All smiles for Georgia. I think you can see some of her curls here. When her hair is wet it is really curly.

Here are some photos from Georgia's first week at home. Nancy "Nonnie" was here with us and she was a HUGE help!! She and Annabel had some good bonding time. It seemed like every time I was busy taking care of Georgia, Nancy was busy with Annabel. We were so grateful that she was here with us during this time with the new baby. She also kept us well feed. Our last meal was a Ragu she and Brodie found in Bon Appetite. YUMMY!

Below are two photos of Georgia laying in her blanket made by Grandma Jean.

We had some nice weather so were able to plant our flower boxes for the front of the house. Annabel loved playing in the dirt.

On Sunday April 26th we had Georgia's birth announced at church.

Bath Time!

Georgia's hair seems pretty curly when wet. Here are some photos of her newborn hair style after a bath.

Savannah McClure Wins 2009 Texas State Beam Championship!!

Frisco, TX , March 21, 2009

Savannah McClure, an 11 yr old Level 7 gymnast at North East Texas Elite Gymnastics, has a streak going that is unprecedented in Ark-La-Tex gymnastics. McClure has won a Texas State Championship in each of the last three state competitions she has attended. Beginning in November 2006, Savannah won the Junior B Floor Exercise state championship at the Level 6 State meet. This time last year, she was the 2008 Level 7 State All-Around Champion in the Junior B division. Now, this weekend, Savannah has yet another State Championship to add to her list of accomplishments.

Competing in the Junior I Division (a new designation for 11 year olds), Savannah scored a 9.525 for one of the best Balance Beam routines she has performed all season. This was the highest score for her division and good enough for her 3rd State Championship in 3 years. “This was the steadiest and most solid routine Savannah has performed all year,” stated head coach Amy White. “She has been working long and hard, gradually getting better all year and it all came together at the right time.”

McClure was also successful on the other events walking away from the competition with 5 medals. She began the competition with a nervous bar routine that scored 8.725, well below her average and intended goal but was still good enough for 8th place in the 16 athlete field. Her next event was beam where she refused to let a shaky performance on the first event affect her. She continued her efforts with a solid floor routine to score a 9.275 for 4th place. Savannah closed out the very tight competition on vault with her highest event score, 9.55, which placed her 3rd. Her All-Around score of 37.075 was good enough for 3rd place only 0.4 behind the leader.

This is the final competition for McClure for this season. She will now begin training with coaches Amy & Lloyd White to move to Level 8 for the 2009-2010 season.
